After a very successful regular season, the #6 Fire men's tennis team heads off to Brunswick, Ga. to take on the Sun Conference Tournament.
The Fire boast a squad with two ranked doubles teams and three ranked individuals.
Diego Menendez is the highest ranked singles player at #16,
Bruno Pessoa follows close behind at #22, and the third player ranked is
Alejandro Orihuela at #70.
In doubles, Menendez and Pessoa band together and form the #5 doubles team in all of NAIA, and at #22
Mark Griffin and
Piero Fernandez land.
The Fire turned in a 17-5 season, going 6-1 in SUN, and 11-0 at home, the only Sun Conference loss coming to #3 Keiser early in the season.
Southeastern ranks second overall in the Sun Conference, falling behind Keiser. The Fire's first game will come against the winner of the Wednesday match between #3 SCAD-Savannah and #6 Warner University, both teams the Fire have beaten by a score of 4-1.
The Fire's semifinal contest will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m., if they emerge victorious from the semifinals Southeastern will play Friday morning at 10:00 a.m. for a Sun Conference Championship.
