Box Score OVERLAND PARK, Kan.—Southeastern will face Tennessee Wesleyan in the third-place match after a 4-2 loss to Xavier (La.) in the semifinals on Saturday.
The match got off to a promising start by taking the doubles point with a pair of 6-2 wins by
Ingrid Montserrat and
Flaminia Guidantoni at Lin 2 and
Irene Lopez and
Neleah Neiberline at Line 3.
The Gold Nuggets quickly evened the match and then took the lead with straight-sets wins at the top two singles flights and a win at Line 4 as well. Lopez was responsible for the lone point in singles a Line 6 with a 7-6, 6-1 win.
Sunday's match will take place at 7:30 p.m. Eastern.
