Women’s Tennis Earns Six All-Conference Honors; Dickens Named Coach of the Year

Program milestones include first regular season title and first Coach of the Year award

LAKELAND, Fla. — Southeastern Women's Tennis set a program record with six Sun Conference All-Conference selections and saw Drew Dickens named Sun Conference Coach of the Year, highlighting a historic 2026 season for the Fire.

Dickens earns Coach of the Year honors for the first time in his career, marking the first such award in program history. The recognition follows Southeastern capturing the Sun Conference regular season title for the first time.

The Fire placed two players on the First Team and four on the Second Team, tying the program record for total selections.

Leading the First Team was Martina Picardi, who earned All-Conference honors for the second consecutive season after being named Second Team in 2024. Picardi went 9-5 in singles, including a 6-3 mark at No. 1, while adding a 6-6 doubles record at the top position.

She was joined by Leonie Schondelmaier, who posted one of the team's strongest overall resumes with a 9-2 singles record, including a perfect 5-0 mark at No. 4. In doubles, Schondelmaier went 11-3 across all three positions, highlighted by an 8-3 record at No. 3.

On the Second Team, Isabella Bolivar Garces compiled a 7-6 singles record while competing across the top three positions and added a strong 9-3 doubles mark, including 8-3 at No. 2.

Alessia Ciampi, a First Team selection in 2025, earned Second Team honors this season after going 8-4 in singles across Nos. 3-5. She also contributed a 6-6 record in doubles at the No. 1 position.

Aurora Compagnucci delivered an 8-4 singles record, primarily in the lower half of the lineup, and matched Schondelmaier with an 11-3 doubles record, including an 8-3 mark at No. 3.

Irene Parigi, also a First Team selection in 2025, was perfect in singles at 6-0, all at the No. 5 position, and added an 8-3 doubles record at No. 2.

Southeastern's six All-Conference selections, combined with Dickens' Coach of the Year honor and the program's first regular season title, underscore a breakthrough year for the Fire as they head into postseason play.
