Box Score LAKELAND, Fla. –Hat tricks from Alyssa Kaminski and Becky Reynolds helped the Fire put away the Royals 6-3 Saturday afternoon.
The Fire (4-3, 1-1) got the ball rolling in the 18th minute as Kaminski scored the first of the six Southeastern goals. She scored again in the 46th and 65th minute while Reynolds scored her goals in the 20th, 46th, and 65th minute; she also added an assist to Kaminski in the 46th minute.
Offense was the name of the game for SEU, as they were able to control the ball for most of the match.
"I told our girls we needed to be tougher. I think it started with AK [Kaminski] and Becky [Reynolds] getting into their rhythm. To split a hat trick with each other and assist each other was great to see and it showed our team's mental toughness," said coach Bronson Gambale.
Kaminski and Reynolds are the new team leaders for goals scored this season; both have three as all of their goals were their first goals of the season.
For the Royals (4-2, 1-1), Cynthia Peretty led the way for Warner. Peretty put the ball into the net on a free kick from 20 yards out in the 62nd minute. She also tapped in a goal off a penalty kick rebound in the last minute of the game. Jamie Murray scored the other goal for Warner.
The Fire improve to 1-1 in Sun Conference play. They will hit the road Thursday as they face Thomas University (5-4, 2-0) at 3pm in another conference game.
