WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — The No. 13 Southeastern Fire women's soccer team fell to No. 1 Keiser, 7-1, on Saturday afternoon at Arrigo-Vecelio Stadium.

The Fire entered the match with a 4-2-1 record, while Keiser came in unbeaten at 6-0-2. SEU battled throughout the contest and recorded seven shots, including five on goal, but the Seahawks' offensive pressure proved difficult to overcome.

Keiser opened the scoring in the 21st minute following an own goal, taking a 1-0 advantage into halftime. SEU goalkeeper Sofia Diaz made three saves in the opening half to keep the Fire within one.

Keiser extended its lead just 1:43 into the second half when they found the back of the net, giving the Seahawks a 2-0 advantage.

The Fire quickly answered in the 53rd minute; Sara Irurozki put SEU on the board, finishing a chance assisted by Rebecca Laface and Eden Greenfield. The goal marked Irurozki's third of the season and cut the deficit to 2-1.

Keiser added to its lead throughout the second half, but the Fire continued to compete and create opportunities as the match progressed. SEU recorded seven shots in the afternoon, with five finding the target.

This non-conference match did not impact the Fire's conference standings. SEU will look to bounce back when it returns home on September 22 to face Edward Waters.
