Reinhardt responded in the 26th minute when Lily Freeman scored to level the match at 1-1, a score that held through halftime. Southeastern controlled much of the opening half offensively, recording nine shots and earning two corner kicks.

Southeastern continued to pressure the Eagles and nearly extended its lead moments later when Nerea Hernandez struck the crossbar in the 50th minute. The Fire eventually added an insurance goal in the 82nd minute when Nerea Genc scored her first goal of the season off an assist from Rebecca Laface, pushing the advantage to 3-1.

The Fire's defense held strong down the stretch, while Diaz made two saves in the second half to preserve the victory. Jordyn Velasco started in goal and recorded two saves in the opening half. Southeastern finished the match with a commanding 20-5 advantage in shots and put 11 attempts on frame.
