MIAMI GARDENS, Fla.—Sixth-ranked Southeastern started a new win streak Sunday with a 5-2 win over No. 10 Xavier (La.) after battling multiple weather delays.

Bruno Pessoa and
Diego Menendez were a 6-4 winner over eighth-ranked Jacobi Bain and Nereo Suarez to clinch the doubles point after 30
th-ranked
Piero Fernandez and
Mark Griffin won 6-2 over 36
th-ranked Dedric Ray and Ivan Vazquez.
Fernandez put the Fire up 2-0 with a 6-3, 6-2 win at Line 5 singles, and Menedez, the No. 21 singles player scored a 6-2, 6-4 win at Line 2 over No. 27 Nereo Suarez to get SEU within a point of clinching the match.
After dropping the third singles flight,
Mark Griffin clinched the match at Line 6 with a 6-3, 7-6 (8-6) victory.
Alejandro Orihuela picked up the extra point at Line 4 with a win by retirement in the third set.
The 13-4 Fire will host Florida National on Saturday at 1 p.m.
