GAINESVILLE, Ga.—A strong second round helped Southeastern finish second at the Golden Tiger Invitational.
The Fire posted a team total of 308 in the second round after a 326 on Monday to finish 14 shots behind Truett-McConnell which posted back-to-back rounds of 310.
Alejandra Cuellar and
Marlie Smit were the top finishers for Southeastern in a tie for fifth with a 36-hole total of 156. Cuellar posted a 77 in the first round and a 79 in the second round. Smit was the opposite with a 79 on Monday and a 77 on Tuesday and led the field in Par 3 scoring at 2.88.
Maria Stephens was three shots back in a tie for ninth with rounds of 82 and 77.
Madelyn Campbell made a surge on Tuesday going up nine spots on the leaderboard with a 75, bouncing back from an 88 on Monday.
Lauren Hosier rounded out the lineup in a tie for 32nd at 175 (93-82).
