Box Score OVERLAND PARK, Kan.—Southeastern placed sixth at the ITA Indoor Championship after going 1-2 during its first trip to the tournament.
The Fire dropped Sunday's placement match to William Woods University by the score of 4-2.
Buno Pessoa and
Diego Menendez locked up the doubles point with a 6-4 win in the top flight after
Piero Fernandez and
Mark Griffin won 6-3 in the third flight.
Menendez gave the Fire a 2-1 lead with a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 2 Singles after William Woods got on the board with a straight-sets win at No. 3 Singles. The Owls answered with wins at Lines 5 and 4, then got a comeback three-set win at Line 1 to take the match.
The team will travel to Georgia for three matches starting on February 21
st.
