Box Score Fire women's tennis took a tour to Warner University this afternoon and won in dominating fashion, 4-0. The match took place in Bartow, Fla. and Southeastern got to work right away in the doubles matches.
With Warner conceding one match due to not enough players, the Fire were already up 1-0, and
Flaminia Guidantoni and
Ingrid Montserrat won handily over Camila Matos and Keren Alves 6-0 giving the Fire an early 2-0 lead over Warner. The final doubles match went unfinished as Martini Picardi and
Simone Simas were building a 3-1 lead over Lauren Schiraldi and Riley Cook.
Singles was much of the same story for Southeastern as Warner only notched one set win in the five matches that were played. Only two games finished and one match was forfeited,
Irene Lopez and Montserrat won their matches 6-0, 6-0 over Alves and E. Davila.
Guidantonia and Picardi both held 6-0, 3-0 leads over their competitors and
Simone Simas was leading after winning the first set 6-1.
After this Sun Conference win the Fire advance to 1-0 in conference play and 5-2 on the season.
Southeastern returns to action on March 9 as they prepare to take on #9 Middle Georgia State for their first home game of the season.
