Box Score 2 Women's tennis concluded their four-game stretch in Georgia with a 2-0 day with wins over Brenau and Cumberland by the scores of 4-0.
Southeastern started strong early, winning every doubles game.
Flaminia Guidantoni and
Maria Martinez won their match over Shaloom Delgado and Kristina Radovic 6-1,
Simone Simas and
Irene Lopez took their doubles match by a score of 6-2 over Mary Wynn Brannon and Sally Brannon. In the last doubles match
Martina Picardi and
Ingrid Montserrat would control the game over Yousra Hiddas and Anita Portes winning 6-1
In singles was when the Fire started taking big strides. Lopez took care of business, defeating Portes 6-0, 6-0 and Simas commanded her match winning 6-0, 6-2 over Brannon. Montserrat ended the match dominating her game 6-0, 6-1 over Radovic.
Three matches went unfinished, Picardi was ahead of Delgado 6-2, 4-2, Martinez was split with Hiddas 3-6, 6-1, and Guidantoni was down to Brannon 2-6, 2-3.
Against Cumberland, Picardi and
Isabella Forcella defeated Maria Arbelaez and Lara Zugasti 6-3, whereas Simas and Montserrat completed a shutout of Valentina Mendez and Kaede Hatano 6-0. The final doubles match went uncontested because of the first two wins.
In singles, the only matches that finished were Guidantoni versus Mendez which ended in 6-0, 6-2 in favor of Guidantoni, and Montserrat swept Hatano by the exact same score 6-2, 6-0. The Fire also picked up a forfeit at Line 6.
The Fire will return to action February 28 as they prepare to take on Sun Conference rival Warner University, the time of the match is still yet to be determined.
