ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga.—Southeastern turned a one-shot deficit into a nine-shot win to claim the Coastal Georgia Winter Invitational at King and Prince for the fourth-straight year.
The Fire posted a team score of 310 on Tuesday after a 306 on Monday to take the top spot from Newberry.
Marlie Smit and
Maria Stephens paced the way for the Fire, each posting 36-hole totals of 150. Smit opened with a 74 and scored 76 on Tuesday. Stephens opened with a 76 and closed with a 74.
Alejandra Cuellar was 11
th at 157 with scores of 77 and 80 and was followed by
Madelyn Campbell in a tie for 13
th at 159 (79-80).
Lauren Hosier posted a pair of 84s to finish in a tie for 26
th.
Next weekend, the women will head to Valdosta, Ga. for the Dalton State Invitational at Kinderlou Forest.
