Lakeland, Fla.—The Southeastern University women's cross country team ran away from it's competition to win the FL Runners Invite.
The Fire had three of the top four runners, which helped the team score 28 points to earn the victory. Southeastern finished with a total time of 1:40.
Sophomore Julia Rohm once again placed ahead of all runners, finishing with a time of 18:51. Coach Paul Kurtz commented on Rohm's race, "She broke 19:00 which is awesome for this course this time of the year, and that's probably a low 18:00 when we run in two weeks in Charlotte." Rohm later talked about her own performance, "One of my goals today was to run sub-19:00 and I was really happy I was able to do that today."
Rounding out the top four were freshman Liliana Baker and junior Kelsi Ogilvie, who finished with times of 19:51 and 20:04, respectively.
Freshman Emma McLaughlin finished in the top ten with a time of 20:33 and right behind her was junior Raeanaa Pabon at 20:38.
Senior Jenchya Rivera placed 19th at 21:30. Just behind her was Kristen Robinson, finishing at 22:16.
The Fire don't compete again until October 11th in Charlotte, N.C. at the Royals Challenge.
