Fire Second at Sun Championship, Six Earn All-Conference

Colebank leads SEU with a third-place finish in the 6K race at Sargeant Jasper Park

HARDEEVILLE, S.C. -- SEU turned in a complete team performance at the Sun Conference Championship, finishing second overall in the 6-kilometer race at Sargeant Jasper Park. The Fire tallied 44 points, just behind SCAD Savannah's 32 and well ahead of third-place Ave Maria's 57, in a field that featured seven teams. In a display of balance and depth, six Southeastern runners finished in the top 15 to earn All-Conference honors — the most of any team in the field.

Izzy Colebank once again led the Fire with a third-place finish in 22:44.2, pacing herself smoothly through the rolling course and pulling away from the chase pack in the final stretch. Joslyn Armstrong followed close behind in sixth place (23:15.3), giving Southeastern two runners in the top six and keeping the Fire within striking distance of the eventual champions through the midpoint of the race.

The next three SEU finishers crossed in a tight cluster that solidified the team's second-place finish. Ashlyn Poulin (10th, 23:37.6) and Maci Mills (11th, 23:39.7) ran stride for stride most of the way, followed closely by Ella Sager (14th, 23:44.9) and Jadyn DeVerna (15th, 23:46.9) to complete Southeastern's All-Conference contingent. The Fire's scoring five finished within just one minute of each other, showcasing the squad's signature pack-running identity.

SEU's top five combined for a total time of 1:57:01 and an average of 23:24. The group's efficiency and consistency were further underscored by the depth behind them — Ashlin Price (20th, 24:24.2), Sophie Robinson (21st, 24:24.6), and Riley McKinney (22nd, 24:25.5) all finished within seconds of one another, continuing the trend of tight team running that has carried the Fire throughout the fall.

SCAD Savannah captured the team title behind individual champion Talia Sullivan (21:52.6) and three runners in the top four, while Ave Maria placed third behind a late-race surge from its front group.
