LAKELAND, Fla. – Director of Athletics Drew Watson has announced that
David Driggers has been hired as the head bass fishing coach.
Driggers comes to SEU from Webber International University, where he served as the head coach of the bass fishing team since 2021.
"Dave brings an extensive knowledge of fishing to our program," said Watson. "He will do a great job investing in our anglers and providing them with guidance and direction both on and off the water."
Besides his time in collegiate coaching, Driggers also serves as state youth director for The Sunshine State BASS Nation Tournament Series, organizing and executing tournaments across the state of Florida.
"I'm looking forward to joining the SEU family," said Driggers. "I am excited about mentoring student anglers throughout their collegiate career as they pursue their goal to become professional anglers. I can't wait to get started."
The fishing team begins their season this weekend, when they travel to Leesburg, Florida to compete in Bassmaster Legends Trail on Harris Chain of Lakes.
