PARK CITY, Kan.—Southeastern matched its best finish at the NAIA Men's Wrestling National Championship, finishing third as a team for the second year in a row.
The Fire scored 90 points as a team during the two-day event, finishing behind Life with 157.5 and Grand View with 206.
Sal Silva winning the 157-pound national championship netted 22.5 points, boosted by a technical fall in the first round and a major decision in the quarterfinals.
Gabe Jacobs added 17.5 points to the total in the 285-pound bracket with a third-place finish even with a first-round bye. Jacobs scored a fall in his first match against Jakob Jerabek and in his placement match against KC Buday to pick up bonus points.

Douglas Peppers added 11 points with his sixth-place finish at 174, highlighted by a fall in the fourth round of the consolation bracket to reach the podium for the first time.
