Men’s Tennis Blanked by Defending Champs

Box Score LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga.—Southeastern suffered its first men's tennis loss of the season by the count of 4-0 to the defending national champion Grizzlies of Georgia Gwinnett.
 
GGC took the doubles point with a 6-2 win at Line 1 and a 6-4 win at Line 2. The third match was tied 4-4 when the point was clinched with Guido Luna and Enrique Martinez battling hard.
 
Third-ranked Alex Gurmendi handed Christian Garay a close loss at No. 1 Singles 7-6 (7-5), 6-4. No. 17 Dhakshineswar Suresh was a 6-4, 6-0 winner at Line 2 over Victor Olivera, and Federico Bonacia was a 6-0, 6-4 winner at No. 6 over Martinez.
 
Diego Menendez was down a set at Line 3, but the second was tied 5-5 when the match was clinched. Federico Barbon dropped the first set 7-5, but led the second 4-2 when the match was stopped.
 
The Fire will return to action Monday against No. 10 William Woods at 2 p.m.
