Box Score LAKELAND, Fla.- Southeastern men's tennis earned their 10
th win of the season today after defeating Hamilton College 6-1.
The No. 5 ranked Fire (10-2) took all three doubles matches to secure the doubles point including doubles pair
Christian Garay and
Diego Menendez who advanced their team doubles record to 9-3 on the season with a 6-3 match win at line one.
Nadal Nicolou and
Gustavo Rubio each earned their first doubles win of the season at line three by a score of 6-2.
Federico Anzoletti also earned his first doubles win of the season after partnering with
Guido Luna for a 6-3 line two win.
With a one-point lead heading into singles play, Luna doubled the lead with two 6-0 sets at line four to move to 9-1 on the season.
Christian DellaCioppa then took the line five match with 6-3 and 6-0 scores to move the Fire lead to 3-0.
Garay followed with his 10
th singles win of the season at line one, downing Connor Griff 6-4 and 6-3.
Menendez then pushed his win streak to nine with 6-3 and 6-4 set wins at line two, advancing the score to 5-0.
At line three,
Federico Barbon took 6-2 and 6-1 wins to move to 9-2 on the season.
Sam Reeder came up just short in a hard-fought battle at line six, falling 4-6, 7-6 (7-3 tiebreaker), and 5-10 to move the final score to 6-1.
Southeastern will be back in action in Lakeland on Friday as they take on No. 16 St. Thomas at 1 p.m.
