WILLIAMSBURG, Ky.- After dropping their home opener to Florida College and going 2-2 at the Faulkner Invitational, the Southeastern University volleyball team will head to Williamsburg, Ky. this weekend for three games at the Cumberlands Invite.
On Friday, the Fire will open up the invite against Bryan College at 3:30 p.m. The Lions come into the weekend with a 3-1 record after dropping their only contest to Xavier in five sets. As a team, the Lions average 12.16 kills per set and a .143 hitting percentage. Abby Rector leads the way offensively with 59 kills in four matches for 3.1 kills per set while Elliot Brock has registered 112 digs for an average of 5.89 per set.
Day two will begin at 9 a.m. against Ohio Christian University who comes in looking for their first win of the season with an 0-4 record. Madison Blickenstaff leads the Trailblazers with 40 kills and a .258 hitting percentage.
At 1:30 p.m., the Fire will end the trip with Bluefield University. The Rams begin the week with an 0-3 record and average 10.42 kills and 17.17 digs per set. In 12 sets played, Adriana Alvarez has recorded a team high 38 kills for an average of 3.17 per set.
The Fire currently sit at a 3-5 overall record and average 11.18 kills per set and 16.96 digs per set. Sophomore
Grace Petty has been the offensive leader with 80 kills while
Holly Kaczmarek leads the defense with 112 digs for 5.1 per set. Sophomore
Chapel Cunningham has been a force at the net with 16 blocks, 11 of which came at the Faulkner Invitational.
