LAKELAND, Fla. -- SEU junior
Laura Bonomi has been named an NAIA Third Team All-American, the NAIA announced, capping a historic season for the Fire volleyball program.
Bonomi becomes the first Southeastern women's volleyball player to earn selection to one of the NAIA's three All-America teams, marking a major milestone for the program. She joins Sandy Cao, who was named an NAIA Honorable Mention All-American in 2021, as the only Fire volleyball players to receive All-America recognition.
An outside hitter, Bonomi was also named the Sun Conference Player of the Year after a dominant 2025 campaign in which she led the conference in kills, kills per set, aces, and aces per set. She ranked among the NAIA's national leaders as well, finishing 8th in the country in kills per set and 9th in aces per set, establishing herself as one of the most complete attackers in the nation.
Bonomi totaled 396 kills over 92 sets, averaging 4.30 kills per set, while posting a .255 hitting percentage against a steady slate of conference and regional opponents. She added 58 service aces and 385 digs, providing consistent six-rotation impact and anchoring the Fire's offense from the pin throughout the season.
Her year was highlighted by several standout performances, including a season-high 23 kills and 27.5 points in a five-set victory over Webber International on October 29. Earlier in the season, she recorded a career-high seven aces against Reinhardt and logged a season-best 35 digs against Webber, showcasing her versatility on both ends of the floor.
Bonomi recorded double-digit kills in 25 matches and eclipsed 20 points multiple times, delivering in key moments throughout Sun Conference play and postseason competition. Her historic All-America honor and conference Player of the Year recognition underscore both her individual excellence and the continued rise of Southeastern volleyball on the national stage.
