Patrick Sets 2021-22 Wrestling Schedule

LAKELAND, Fla.—Southeastern University Wrestling Coach Travis Patrick announced the team's 2021-22 schedule this afternoon, featuring seven home duals.
 
The first chance to see the Fire in action under Patrick, who begins his first season at SEU will be on Friday, October 29th at 7 p.m. in the annual Red & Black Intrasquad Dual. The following weekend, the team will compete in the Patriot Open in Williamsburg, Ky.
 
""I am excited about the competition schedule we have put together for the 21-22 season," said Patrick. "We have a group of guys capable of competing against the best wrestlers in any division and this schedule allows us to do that."
 
November 13th, Southeastern travels to Waleska, Ga. to face Reinhardt and Truett-McConnell in dual matches, then will head to St. Thomas for the first time in program history in their Mid-South opener against the Bobcats.
 
The Fire will compete against some quality competition at the Life U Open on November 20th before hosting Keiser for a Mid-South dual on December 3rd.
 
After the 2020 tournament was canceled, the Fire are looking to make their debut at the Reno Tournament of Champions on December 19th after facing Providence in a dual in Reno two days prior. Southeastern will also return to the NWCA National Duals this season after placing each of the last two times they've competed at Freedom Hall in Louisville.
 
SEU will welcome St. Thomas, Hastings, Keiser, and Cumberland University to The Fire Pit for the annual Fire Duals on January 15th, then will head to the Missouri Valley Invite January 21st and 22nd.
 
On January 29th, the Fire will head to West Palm Beach for duals against Truett-McConnell and Montreat before hosting defending national champion Life on February 4th at 7 p.m.
 
The Senior Day dual against Brewton-Parker is scheduled for Thursday, February 10th at 7 p.m.
 
"I believe this schedule will have our guys ready to compete at a high level at the conference and national tournaments," said Patrick.
 
February 19th will be the national qualifier and the NAIA National Championships will take place March 4th and 5th. Locations are to be determined.
