FROSTPROOF, Fla.—The Southeastern University track & field teams had a great showing at the Webber Alumni Meet at Frostproof High School.
The Fire had athletes place first in nine women's events and five men's events on the day.
Davonte Vanterpool shaved a hundredth of a second off his 60 Hurdles time of 8.18, which is 10
th nationally to finish second in the prelims, and won the final in 8.22.
Christopher Pinedo was the top finisher in the 3000 Meters in 9:32 and
Michael Holden won the Men's 1000 Meters in 2:50.66.
Kyle Manuel was tops in the shot put with a mark of 16.24 meters and classmate
Andy Labrada won the weight throw with a best mark of 15.01 meters.
Princess Nwankwo won the Women's Weight Throw with a best mark of 15.03 meters.
Idalia Romero-Talbert won the Women's Long Jump with a 4.92.
Amaya Kier posted a time of 9.06 to win the 60 Hurdles, and Fikayo Lawrence on the 60 Meters in 7.79.
Namiah Simpson was the winner of the 200 Meters in 25.34 and
Courtney Gales won the 600 Meters in 1:38.10.
The Fire women continued their dominance of the quarter mile, with
Rachel Boyd first in the 400 Meters in 58.2 and
Yuriah Bigos second in 58.85.
Emma Woltjer was the top finisher in the 800 Meters in 2:30.42.
Next up for Southeastern will be either the University of Tampa Invitational or the Bahama House First Chance/Last Chance at Embry-Riddle.
