LAKELAND, Fla. -- At the SEU Last Chance Meet held at Tenoroc High School, the Southeastern women's track & field team delivered one of its strongest all-around performances of the outdoor season, posting multiple NAIA qualifying standards, school-record marks, and additions to the program's all-time top-10 lists.
The highlight of the meet came from
Alyssa Morley in the triple jump. Morley captured the event title with a leap of 11.96 meters, earning the NAIA "B" standard while breaking a five-year-old school record. Morley actually surpassed the previous record again on her final attempt of the competition, though the jump was wind-aided and will not count officially toward the record book. After entering the meet without a qualifying mark this season, she hit the NAIA standard on three separate jumps during the competition.
In the throws,
Emma Terry and
MarieAnge Moussignac continued to rewrite Southeastern history.
Terry won the discus throw with a mark of 41.29 meters, moving to No. 8 in program history. The performance marked the first time in four years that Southeastern's all-time top-10 list in the event had been updated. Moussignac followed with a second-place finish at 38.28 meters.
Moussignac added another runner-up finish in the hammer throw with a mark of 48.33 meters, improving her hold on No. 2 in school history. With the performance, she now owns every top-10 mark in Southeastern history in the event. Terry placed third in the hammer at 39.75 meters.
The pair also dominated the shot put competition as Moussignac claimed first with a throw of 12.33 meters while Terry finished second at 11.83 meters.
In the javelin, Terry earned another event victory with a throw of 40.22 meters, moving to No. 2 in program history. Moussignac added a second-place finish at 25.53 meters.
On the track, the Southeastern 4x100 relay team of
Areeyanna Bonds,
Antiana Walsh, Morley, and
Olga Gomez posted a season-best 46.14 to win the event. The mark hit the NAIA "A" standard, ranks No. 9 nationally in the NAIA, and moved into No. 8 in Southeastern history. It is the first addition to the program's all-time top 10 in the event since 2023.
Maci Mills turned in another standout performance in the 800 meters, winning the race in 2:11.24 while securing the NAIA "A" standard and moving to No. 5 in program history. Teammate
Jaa'Ln McBride finished third in 2:12.04, earning the NAIA "B" standard and climbing to No. 8 on the all-time list.
