Box Score 2 MONTGOMERY, Ala.— Entering Saturday, the Fire volleyball team had never been victorious in all four competitions of the Faulkner Invitational. Following a 2-0 start on Friday, Southeastern closed out a perfect tournament appearance for the first time in program history with wins over Tennessee Wesleyan and Brewton Parker.
After a tight 27-25 loss in the opening set, the Fire stormed back with a 29-27 victory in the second set. After the third set opened up 3-3, SEU rattled off nine unanswered points to take a 12-3 lead, eventually claiming a 25-15 win. The Fire closed out the Bulldogs in the fourth set with a 25-16 decision for a 3-1 match victory.

Keniah Rivera Santiago posted a team best 21 digs.
Southeastern made quick work of the Brewton-Parker Barons, handling BPC in three sets. The Fire went on a 12-3 run in the first set to take a 22-9 lead, eventually winning 25-12. Freshman setter Courntey Krause recorded four of her match-high six services aces in the second set, a 25-16 SEU win. Krause also had a team best 18 assists on the contest. The Fire closed out the Barons 25-12.
This marks the first time in program history the Fire have gone 4-0 to open up a season since at least 2001.
The Fire will now compete in the Life University Running Eagles Classic for four matches. SEU first draws Tennessee Wesleyan in a rematch next Friday at 4:00 p.m.
