LAKELAND, Fla.—Through three duals in the new Fire Pit, Southeastern wrestlers are now 29-1, and are 3-0 in dual meets.
The Fire posted a 48-6 victory over Mid-South Conference opponent Truett McConnell to move to 4-5 on the season. Southeastern posted four victories by pin, and picked up a forfeit, a tech fall, and a major decision.
The most competitive match of the night was sophomore
Jaaziel Santana's thrilling 4-3 victory at 133. Facing 13
th-ranked Devonte Upshaw, Santana came away with an escape and a takedown in the third period to give him three points of his points, and overcome a 3-1 deficit. The win brought Santana to 7-6 on the year.
Adrian Hughes picked up his 10
th win of the season with a third period pin at 149, and
Zach Colgan improved to 10-0 with a first period pin at 174.
Olson Delisca also reached double figures in wins, improving to 10-4 with a first period pin at 125.
Next up for Southeastern will be a dual meet with NCAA Division II Limestone at home on January 5
th.
