Volleyball Sweeps Clearwater Christian

CLEARWATER, Fla.- When the Fire last traveled to Clearwater Christian, they lost a tough 3-2 match, falling 15-13 in the fifth set.

They weren't going to let that happen again.

Southeastern (10-6) came away with a 3-0 victory over the Cougars, including a come-from-behind victory in the final set.

After winning 25-22, 25-23 in the first two sets, the Fire trailed 24-21 in the third set before rattling off five consecutive points to claim their ninth sweep of the year.

Senior Carol Reis led the attack with 13 kills and also helped out with a solo block, three assisted blocks, and five digs. Freshman Kelsey Morton added five kills, an ace, a solo block, and an assisted block. Alyssa Prescott paced the team with 26 assists.

Defensively, Katie Trenski and Lydia Rooth were both in double digits in digs with 15 and 11, respectively.

The Fire return to Sun Conference Play on October 10th when they travel to Daytona Beach to take on Embry-Riddle.
