Volleyball Sweeps Warner to Remain Unbeaten in Conference Play

LAKE WALES, Fla. — Southeastern women's volleyball remained perfect in Sun Conference play Wednesday night, earning a 3-0 sweep over Warner by scores of 25-14, 28-26 and 25-20 at the Turner Athletic Center.

The Fire improved to 11-3 overall and 5-0 in conference play with the victory, continuing their strong start to the Sun Conference season.

SEU set the tone early, jumping out to a 25-14 victory in the opening set. The team followed with a back-and-forth second set that featured nine ties and four lead changes before the Fire pulled away late to take the set 28-26.

The Fire carried that momentum into the third set, recording 15 kills while hitting .310 as a team. The group closed out the set 25-20 to complete the sweep.

Laura Bonomi led the Fire attack with 14 kills on 33 attempts while hitting .333. She also added two service aces, two blocks, and eight digs to finish with 18 points.

Laura Santangeletta provided another efficient offensive performance, recording seven kills on nine attacks with just one error for a .667 hitting percentage. She also added two blocks.
Marina Santos contributed seven kills, while Jewel Carling finished with four kills and two blocks. Jillian Zoerman added two kills and two blocks.

Haven Speer orchestrated the SEU offense with 33 assists and added two service aces. Mallori Grey led the defensive effort with 10 digs, while Bonomi recorded eight and Speer added three.
As a team, the Fire finished with 36 kills and hit .222 for the match, while limiting Warner to a .112 hitting percentage.

With the win, SEU remains undefeated in conference play at 5-0 and has now won three consecutive matches.

The Fire will return to action with another Sun Conference matchup on October 3rd against St. Thomas.
