LAKELAND, Fla.—The Southeastern University volleyball team continued its strong start to conference play with a 3-0 sweep over Webber International on Wednesday night at The Furnace. The Fire won 25-11, 25-11, 25-18 to improve to 10-3 overall and 4-0 in conference play.

SEU controlled the match from the opening set, jumping out to an early lead before closing out the frame 25-11. The Fire carried that momentum into the second set, again limiting Webber to 11 points and taking a 2-0 lead.

Jillian Zoerman led the Fire offensively with 12 kills on 34 attacks, hitting .265 for the match. Jewel Carling added seven kills, while Laura Santangeletta recorded six kills on just 10 attacks for a team-best .500 hitting percentage.

Haven Speer directed the Fire offense with 33 assists while also recording eight digs and two service aces. Mallori Grey added 23 digs from the back row, helping SEU finish with 59 digs as a team.

The Fire continued to build its lead in the third set, finishing the match with a 25-18 victory. SEU hit .248 as a team and recorded 41 kills compared to 20 from Webber International. The Fire also held an advantage at the net with 12 block assists.

With the victory, SEU moves to 10-3 overall and remains undefeated in conference play at 4-0.
