TEMPLE TERRACE, Fla. — The No. 25 Southeastern Fire continued their strong start to the 2026 season Tuesday night, sweeping Florida College, 3-0, with set victories of 25-18, 25-20 and 25-17. The victory moved Southeastern to 8-3 on the season, as the Fire controlled the match from start to finish.

SEU established its rhythm early in the opening set, overcoming an early deficit before building a lead midway through the frame. The Fire used a balanced offensive attack and strong work at the net to take control, eventually closing out the first set, 25-18.

The second set proved to be the tightest of the night. Florida College battled throughout and held an advantage late in the frame, but Southeastern responded with a decisive run to take a 21-18 lead before closing the set, 25-21.

The Fire then delivered their strongest finish of the match in the third set. After the two teams battled to a 10-10 tie, SEU surged ahead with a 6-0 run to take a 16-10 advantage. Florida College could not recover as the Fire maintained control the rest of the way, securing the sweep with a 25-17 victory.

Laura Bonomi led the Fire offensively with 16 kills, while also contributing 19 digs, three service aces and a block for 19.5 total points. Jillian Zoerman also recorded 12 kills and finished with 11 digs.

Haven Speer orchestrated the Southeastern offense with 35 assists, while Mallori Grey paced the defensive effort with 21 digs. Lucrezia Ceroni added three blocks, while Jewel Carling and Laura Santangeletta each recorded three and four blocks, respectively.

As a team, Southeastern recorded 41 kills, five service aces, and eight total blocks, while holding Florida College to just a .038 hitting percentage. The Fire also finished with an 73-56 advantage in digs. Southeastern's offense steadily improved throughout the match, recording 13 kills in each of the first two sets before producing 15 kills in the third.
