Reis’ Milestone Highlights 3-1 win over Warner

Box Score

LAKELAND, FLA.– In a four-set thriller, the Southeastern women's volleyball team picked up a crucial win against Warner, winning three sets to one. Senior Carol Reis had a night to remember herself–she recorded her 1,000th collegiate kill midway into the second set.

The Fire (14-9, 6-5 TSC) took the first two sets by scores of 25-20 and 25-23. The Royals (8-11, 7-4 TSC) won the third set 25-18 before SEU won the fourth and final set, 25-23.

Lydia Rooth led the way for the Fire in kills with 18, while maintaining a .308 attacking percentage, and added 16 digs. Reis finished with 12 kills on a .310 attacking percentage for the night, giving her 1,009 total kills in her career.

It was tough sledding for the Fire the whole match, however; Southeastern highest attacking percentage came in the second set, when they hit .167. Despite the 34 attacking errors in the game, the Fire finished with six blocks and Katie Trenski finished with four aces.

After the win, SEU is now one game back behind Warner for third place in the Sun Conference. The Fire have three more conference matchups before the Sun Conference playoffs start. They'll travel up to Brunswick, Ga. tomorrow for the College of Coastal Georgia Tournament, beginning with Montreat College Friday at 7 p.m.
