Ninth Hurdle Qualifying Standard Hit at Eagles Invite

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla.—In the final meet before The Sun Conference Championships next week, Southeastern added to its list of NAIA Qualifying standards.
 
Freshman Cedric Johnson Jr. took second in the Men's 400 Meter Hurdles in a season-best time of 54.33 which is an NAIA 'B' Standard Time. Of the 34 athletes nationally that have hit one of the standards in the event, the Fire have five with Johnson joining Vince Lopez, Kevin Davis Jr., James Turner, and Cameron Guadiano. Lopez took third in the field in 54.95.
 
TJ Sanders finished ahead of teammate Jaden Simpson in the Race Walk with Sanders clocking a 28:06 and Simson 31:32.  
 
Joshuwa Valentin was first in the Triple Jump at 13.55 meters and cleared 1.67 meters in the High Jump. Djerry Cajuste was the Long Jump champ in 6.86 meters.
 
On the women's side, Chelsee Martino took third in both the 100 Meters and 100 Hurdles in times of 12.42 and 16.4, respectively.
 
Jillian Blaser was fourth in the 800 Meters in 2:18.
 
The Sun Conference Championships will be hosted by St. Thomas in Miami Gardens next weekend.
