PARK CITY, Kan.—Southeastern brought home a team trophy for the third year in a row with a fourth-place finish at the NAIA Men's Wrestling National Championships.
The Fire finished with 91 points and were just 4.5 points behind Menlo for third. Grand View won the title with 209.5 points followed by Life with 154. Six All-Americans led the scoring for the Fire.
Graham Calhoun scored 18 team points with three wins by decision and a fall to advance to the 174-pound championship match.
Parker Dobrocky added 16.5 points with his third-place finish at 149, getting a fall and a major in the consolation bracket.
Kael Brisker scored 15 team points in the 141-pound bracket despite a first-round bye. Brisker's 23 match points was second-most in a match in the entire tournament with 23 in his technical fall win in the consolation quarters. He placed fourth in the bracket.
Gabe Jacobs registered 14.5 team points in his three wins. Jacobs had the second-fastest tech fall of the tournament in the second round and had the most total falls in the least time with three in 6:15. He finished sixth in the 285-pound bracket.
Andrew Voiles added 9.5 team points with four wins in the 133-pound bracket and
Trace Braun added nine points with his seventh-place finish at 165.
Chris Kelly and
Andreus Bond added two points each and
Sal Silva chipped in with three.
Gentry Smith added a point and a half with a major decision.
