No. 3 overall Southeastern University women's tennis let the Florida National Conquistadors feel their might on the Fire's senior day, winning 4-0 and dropping the visitor to 3-9. The Fire advanced to 10-3.
Flight three doubles was first to finish with
Maria Martinez and
Irene Lopez making quick work of their opponent winning 6-0. Flight one came soon after as #41
Martina Picardi and
Simone Simas dropped their competition 6-2.

Flaminia Guidantoni and
Ingrid Montserrat fought an unfinished match in flight two, they were tied 4-4 as the doubles competition was clinched by the Fire giving them the early 1-0 advantage.
Singles finished quickly behind dominant play from lines one, two, and four. No. 19 Picardi worked her opponent, winning 6-1, 6-2. Guidantoni followed suit, ending her contest quickly 6-1, 6-0. And senior Montserrat clinched the shutout victory for the Fire with her 6-2, 6-3 win in line four.
Simas's match in line three went unfinished as did Lopez's and Martinez's in lines five and six. Simas held the lead 6-3, 2-2, Lopez was near completion up 6-2, 4-2, and Martinez was trying to come back 0-6, 4-3.
The Fire travel for another Sun Conference matchup, this time versus the #7 St. Thomas Bobcats in Miami Gardens on April 6. The time of the first serve is yet to be determined.
