Beach Volleyball capped off its season with a trip to Eckerd College for a dual match versus Ave Maria and the match hosts Eckerd College. The Fire finished the day falling to both Ave Maria 4-1, and Eckerd College 5-0
Against the Gyrenes of Ave Maria the Fire started strong with
Grace Petty and
Sylvia Liszewski winning their contest over Ines Lopes and Alayna Metherd 21-16, 25-23 in flight one.
However, the rest of the matches went in the favor of the Gyrenes, with
Olivia Williams and
Emilia Harding in flight two and
Kennedy Jones and
Alexandra Postlethwaite in flight falling in straight sets.
In flights four and five the Fire battled hard,
Cambry Pope and
Abigail Robinson took their round four contest to three sets, coming back to win the second set, but conceding the match to Ryan Getz and DeAnna Barrett 21-19, 14-21, 15-12.
Similarly,
Tatyana Lyons and
Kiley Roberts pushed the line five to a third set, however, the Gyrenes prevailed 21-14, 18-21, 16-14.
In the contest versus Eckerd College the Fire were unable to secure any of the games to the strong Tritons squad. Flights one and four went to the third set while the rest were swept in two.
Petty and Liszewski dominated the second set of their contest and dropped a close third set in the first flight, losing to Anna Jupin and Madison Hardbarger 21-19, 12-21, 15-10.
Pope and Robinson went to a third set for the second game in a row, the Tritons hung on to the third set victory, as the Fire fell 21-19, 14-21, 15-12.
