MIAMI, Fla.—Southeastern picked up its first win of the season and battled close in their second match to split their first two Sun Conference matches of the season.
The Fire blanked Florida Memorial 5-0 before coming up just short of St. Thomas, 3-2.
Southeastern's top pair of
Sylvia Liszewski and
Grace Petty went 2-0 on the day, scoring a 21-6, 21-14 victory over Florida Memorial and a 21-4, 21-11 win against St. Thomas.
Flight 2 for the Fire also went 2-0 with
Emilia Harding and
Olivia Williams winning 21-11, 21-17 against Florida Memorial and 21-11, 21-11 against St. Thomas.
The three losses to the Bobcats all came in the third set.
Kiley Roberts and Tatiana Lyons scored a three-set victory in the sixth flight against St. Thomas.
Southeastern returns to action next weekend at Hickory Point against Truett-McConnell and St. Andrews.
