LAUGHLIN, Nev.—Southeastern turned in some of its best play this season at The Battle at Laughlin Ranch over the weekend.
The Fire posted a 54-hole total of +20 at 884 to finish sixth in the 17-team field. Southeastern finished just four shots behind Wayland Baptist for fifth. Keiser won the event with a 10-under team score in the final round to finish the tournament at even par.
Matthew Soucinek was third overall after leading through each of the first two rounds with scores of 67 and 71. Soucinek posted a one-over 73 on Tuesday and finished the tournament with 12 total birdies.
Zachary Shaw tied for 23
rd, posting the best third round on the roster with a one-under 71 thanks to seven birdies. He finished third in the field in birdies with 14. Shaw opened with rounds of 77 and 74 to post a six-over total of 222.
Noah Davis tied for 44
th, sandwiching a one-under 71 with a pair of 78s.
Marley Read tied for 57
th at 230 (78-77-75) and
Chris Greenberry also posted a 230, opening with an even par 72 which was highlighted by an eagle on the Par 4 16
th, and closed with a pair of 79s.
The Fire will return to action on April 29
th at The Sun Conference Championship at Grasslands Country Club in Lakeland.
