Ingrid Montserrat claimed her first Sun Conference Player of the Week award this season thanks to a spectacular week of play.
Montserrat turned in a fantastic four matches, playing up a flight in doubles with Guidantoni against Division I Colgate defeating Addie Eklund and Amelia Galin in flight one of doubles 7-6 (7-5), and cruising through her singles match. Against #18 Ave Maria she played in flight three in doubles and line five in singles, turning in two dominant results.
Montserrat and the Fire return to action tomorrow afternoon versus the #2 team in the NJCAA in Hillsborough CC, on Thursday they take on #7 St. Thomas University, Friday they battle the Sun Conference titan #2 in NAIA Keiser University, and the week cap #5 Xavier (La.) is on Sunday.
