Boca Raton, Fla. — Southeastern University Women's Tennis earned multiple standout results at the ITA Regional Championships, highlighted by singles quarterfinal and doubles quarterfinal appearances at Patch Reef Park.
In singles,
Martina Picardi led the way, advancing to the quarterfinals after a straight-set victory over SCAD Savannah's Erin Passmore. She eventually fell to Keiser's Violet Apisah, the tournament's top seed.
Irene Parigi also advanced to the Round of 16, earning a 6-2, 6-3 win over St. Thomas before running into Apisah. Isabella Garces posted a strong 6-1, 6-2 win over St. Thomas's Maeva Roguet before bowing out in the next round.
Freshman
Chloe Do Lago gained momentum in the backdraw, picking up three consecutive wins—including a comeback tiebreak victory over Roguet—before her run ended in the later rounds.
Alessia Ciampi earned a backdraw win as well, cruising past Ave Maria's Elizabeth Pince.
The Fire also impressed in doubles play. The pairing of Picardi and Ciampi earned an 8-5 victory over SCAD Savannah before falling narrowly in the quarterfinals. Garces and Parigi also pushed into the quarterfinal round, highlighted by an 8-1 win over SCAD Savannah in their opener.
With strong showings in both singles and doubles, the Fire leave Boca Raton with valuable early-season experience and momentum heading into the rest of the fall schedule.
