ORLANDO, Fla.—Southeastern posted 10 NAIA 'A' Standard qualifying marks during its first outdoor meet of the season at the UCF Black and Gold Challenge over the weekend.
In a field loaded with Power 5 competitors, Cameron Guadiano posted a pair of top five finishes in the hurdles. The freshman was fourth in the 110 Hurdles with an 'A' Standard time of 14.18 and was fifth in the 400 Hurdles with an 'A' Standard time of 53.54. Through two weeks of outdoor competition nationally, Guadiano's time in the 110 Hurdles is first and his 400 time is second nationally.
James Turner was sixth in the 400 Hurdles with an 'A' Standard time of 53.67.
Kevin Davis Jr. hit the 'B' Standard with a ninth-place finish in 54.11.
James Williamson III was fourth in the 200 Meters in an 'A' Standard time of 20.95 and
Davien Worrels was fifth, also posting an 'A' Standard of 21.0. They are currently 1-2 nationally in the event. Worrels added an 'A' Standard in the 400 in a time of 47.31 and
Joseph Taylor was 11
th with an 'A' Standard time of 47.77. They are also 1-2 nationally in the event.
The 4x100 Relay team of Williamson, Taylor,
Malik Blunt, and Worrels finished third in an 'A' Standard time of 40.72 which is second nationally.
On the women's side,
Oluwafikayomi Lawrence posted an 'A' Standard time of 56.24 in the 400 Meters to finish 20th and has the fourth-fastest time in the NAIA so far. Lawrence also helped the Fire post an 'A' Standard time of 47.05 in the 4x100 Relay running the second leg after
Ar'Briel Scott and handed off to
Ariyah Smith and
Irmiris Mendez. That group has the third-fastest time nationally.
The Fire also had a pair of 'B' Standard times in the 400 Hurdles with Chelsee Martino 16
th in 1:04.49 and Scott 17
th in 1:04.74.
