GAINESVILLE, Fla. - The Fire made strides nationally at the Celebration Pointe Indoor Classic this weekend.
Ashlyn Poulin took first in the race walk, finishing with a school and facility record time of 14:37.68, moving her to the second fastest time recorded in the NAIA this season.
Irmiris Mendez finished fourth in the 200 meter dash with an NAIA 'A' Standard time of 24.99. She also had a fourth place finish in the 60 meter hurdles, running a time of 8.82.
Ar'Briel Scott placed sixth in the 60 Hurdles in a personal-best 'B' Standard time of 8.96.
In the women's mile,
Sarah Foreman finished fourth with a 'B' Standard time of 5:07.57.
For the Fire men's team,
Davien Worrels placed third in the 600 Meters with an NAIA "A" Standard time of 1:19.67.
John Perez-Dunn placed fourth in the 3000 meter run with an NAIA "A" Standard time of 8:28.76.
James Williamson III also ran an NAIA "A" standard time in the 200 meter dash, running the race in 21.52 and placing fourth.
TJ Sanders took first in the 3000 meter race walk with a time of 14:56.67, an NAIA "B" standard.
Cameron Gebers placed fourth in the shot put, recording a mark of 14.20 meters.
The Fire will split up between the Florida Last Chance meet in Gainesville and the Music City Classic in Nashville next week.
