This Week in Fire Athletics 1/15

Women's Basketball

1/17 @ St. Thomas University at 5:30 P.M.
1/20 vs. Coastal College of Georgia at 2 P.M.

Women's basketball has jumped out to a 2-1 conference start (11-5 overall) after two big wins last week at home. This week, they will split their two conference games between Miami Gardens, Fla. and The Furnace, as they travel to take on the St. Thomas Bobcats on Wednesday, and host the Coastal Georgia Mariners on Saturday. St. Thomas is currently undefeated in conference play, and on a four game win streak. Coastal Georgia stands at a 6-8 (1-2 SUN) record, looking to pick up their first win in program history versus the Fire.

Men's Basketball

1/17 @ RV St. Thomas University at 7:30 P.M.
1/20 vs. Coastal College of Georgia at 4 P.M.

Men's basketball picked up their first conference win of the season last Saturday at home, moving them to 9-7 (1-2 SUN) on the year. They will share the same court as the women this week both days, taking on the Bobcats of St. Thomas on the road, who have the same conference record as the Fire (10-5, 1-2 SUN). The men will then return home to host the Coastal Georgia Mariners (8-5, 1-2 SUN), who are looking for their first win against the Fire since 2021.

Wrestling

1/19-1/20 @ Missouri Valley Invite

The No. 6 ranked Fire wrestling team will hit the road and travel to Marshall, Mo. to participate in the Missouri Valley Invite after an impressive 54-0 win last week against the Keiser Seahawks. This will be an all day event, taking place this Friday and Saturday.

Men's Track and Field

1/19 @ RADD Sports Invitational

The men's track and field team will see their first of five meets in Gainesville this week, as they compete in the RADD Sports Invitational on Friday. This meet will see a combination of both NAIA and NCAA athletes.
