SEU Athletics Set for Busy Championship Weekend, November 19–22

A mix of home events and national competitions sets the tone for a defining week in Fire Athletics

LAKELAND, Fla. -- SEU enters one of its most action-packed stretches of the academic year as multiple programs compete both at home and on national stages from November 19–22. With postseason championships underway and winter sports heating up, the Fire are poised for a pivotal week across Lakeland and beyond.

The action begins Wednesday inside The Furnace, where both basketball programs return home to host the College of Coastal Georgia. The women tip off the evening at 5:30 p.m., followed by the men at 7:30 p.m., as SEU looks to continue building early-season momentum in front of its home crowd.

Friday marks the start of championship competition for SEU Cross Country, with athletes from both the women's and men's teams racing at the NAIA National Championship at Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee. Izzy Colebank and Joslyn Armstrong will take the course at 8:30 a.m., followed by the Jack Brooks at 9:30 a.m., as each athlete aims to cap their season on the national stage. The home basketball slate also resumes that evening, as Southeastern welcomes St. Thomas University to The Furnace for a Sun Conference doubleheader. The women play at 5:30 p.m., with the men set for a 7:30 p.m. start.

Championship Saturday brings a full day of Fire Athletics. SEU Wrestling travels to Douglasville, Georgia, for the Lucha Open, while both the men's and women's track & field teams open their indoor seasons at the SEU Fire Indoor Opener, hosted at Tenoroc High School in Lakeland.

The biggest spotlight of the weekend shines on Victory Field, where Southeastern hosts Reinhardt University at 1 p.m. in the First Round of the 2025 NAIA Football Championship Series. The Fire enter the postseason looking to extend their standout campaign and advance deeper into the national tournament.

The day concludes on the pitch, as SEU Women's Soccer welcomes Lindsey Wilson College for a 6 p.m. Second Round matchup in the 2025 NAIA Women's Soccer National Championship First & Second Rounds, presented by Select Sport America. With a berth to the final site in Pensacola on the line, the Fire aim to continue their dominant season at home on the SEU Soccer Field.

With national championship races, postseason football, and home events across multiple sports, Southeastern gears up for a thrilling week that showcases the full depth of Fire Athletics.
