Dillard Joins the Fire as Strength and Conditioning Coach

LAKELAND, Fla.- Southeastern University is pleased to announce the hiring of Austin Dillard as the new Head Strength and Conditioning Coach beginning in the fall of 2023.
 
Southeastern Athletic Director Drew Watson stated, "Our student-athletes and coaching staff will love working with Austin. His passion for people and for his craft are impressive, and I am excited about the fresh perspective he brings to Lakeland."
 
Dillard joins the Fire athletics staff from Cumberland University in Lebanon, Tenn. where he served as the Director of Sports Performance for two years. While at Cumberland, Dillard oversaw the football, baseball, volleyball, wrestling, and women's soccer programs and led the baseball program to school records in home runs and slugging percentage.
 
Regarding his hiring, Dillard stated, "I am really grateful for this opportunity. I want to thank Drew Watson for believing in me to lead our athletes in the weight room and I am looking forward to getting the semester started."
 
Prior to his time in Tennessee, he served as a graduate assistant in the strength and conditioning department at the University of Akron from August 2019 to July of 2021 while earning his master's degree in Sports Science and Coaching. During his time with the Zips he designed and implemented strength programs for men's basketball, men's soccer, swim and dive, and track and field while also designing the program for baseball.
 
Dillard graduated from Georgia Southern University in 2021 with an undergraduate degree in Kinesiology while also serving as a volunteer assistant strength coach from February 2018 to May of 2019.
