SILVIS, Ill.—Only the team that won the national championship shot better than Southeastern in the fourth and final round of the NAIA Women's Golf National Championship at TPC Deere Run on Friday.
Southeastern posted a 308 team score on Friday with only British Columbia at 296 besting the Fire to move up in the standings and finish eighth.
Maria Stephens had the best individual round on the roster and the best round of the tournament on the team with a two-over 73 to finish 39th. Stephens played the front and back at +1 each, picking up a pair of birdies on the back after just a single bogey on the front.
Hallie Riley had the top finish on the leaderboard in a tie for 17
th, closing the tournament with a round of 76 to finish at 308 for 72 holes. She was 12
th in the field in Par 3 scoring at +4 for the tournament and an average of 3.25.
Madelyn Campbell placed 42
nd with a total of 318 (78-78-79-83) and
Marlie Smit was two shots back in 45
th with a total of 320 (81-75-84-80), and
Alejandra Cuellar was tied for 58
th with a total of 324 (81-79-85-79).
