LAKELAND, Fla.—Southeastern added four national qualifiers and three NAIA No. 1 marks during its trips to the South Florida Invitational in Tampa and the Hurricane Alumni Meet in Coral Gables.
Davonte Vanterpool won the 110 Hurdles at USF in a time of 13.92 for the new top mark nationally in the event this year.
Glenn Rodgers was second in 14.17 and
Darion Carter fifth in 14.24.
Maximiliano Kittsteiner was sixth in the Pole Vault, clearing 4.75 meters to meet the NAIA 'B' Standard.
Kyle Manuel added a 'B' Standard in the Discus, finishing fourth with a best toss of 49.14 meters.
At Miami,
Keishon Franklin already had the top time in the NAIA in the 400 Meters, but shaved a fraction of a second off of that mark by posting a 46.23 to finish second in the event to Jamaican Olympian Demish Gaye by just a tenth of a second.
Davien Worrels was sixth in 47.7.
James Turner was third in the 400 Hurdles with a new NAIA No. 1 time of 52.18.
Darion Carter was sixth in a new season-best time of 53.45, and
Vincent Lopez was eighth in 53.64.
John Perez-Dunn won the Steeplechase in 10:08.4. The 4x100 Relay team of Franklin, Worrels, Williamson, and Deondre Randall were second in 40.73.
James Williamson III placed third in the 200 with a time of 20.77. Manuel was fourth in the Shot Put in 15.82 meters.
On the women's side,
Toni Canfall qualified for NAIA Nationals in the 100 Meters with an 'A' Standard time of 11.9 to finish 13
th in the field. She also hit the 'A' Standard in the 200 with a time of 24.62 to finish 11
th.
Oluwafikayomi Lawrence ran a season-best 56.48 in the 400, finishing seventh and moving up to tenth in the NAIA in the event.
The 4x100 Relay team of
Irmiris Mendez, Lawrence,
Namiah Simpson, and Canfall posted the No. 2 time in the NAIA at 46.33 to finish fourth.
