LAKELAND, Fla.- Southeastern men's tennis advanced to 12-3 on the season with a dominate 9-0 shutout of St. Olaf College.
In doubles play, the Fire jumped out to a 3-0 lead after taking all three doubles matches.
Christian Garay and
Diego Menendez took a line one doubles win by a score of 8-6 with
Gustavo Rubio and
Nadal Nicolau earning an 8-4 win at line two. At line three doubles,
Federico Barbon and
Miguel Binnios combined for an 8-3 win.
Victor Olivera pushed the Fire lead to four with a line one win in singles play by scores of 6-3 and 6-2 while
Christian DellaCioppa moved to 5-1 on the season with 6-0 and 6-1 set wins.
Enrique Martinez earned a line three win with set scores of 6-1 and 6-2 while
Sam Reeder picked up his first win of the season with two 6-1 set scores.
Nicolau and Rubio both moved to 2-0 on the season with 6-0 and 6-1 wins to finish off the shutout.
The No. 6 ranked Fire will next take on No. 8 Ave Maria University on the road on Friday at 1 p.m.
