Baseball Takes Two at Warner

LAKE WALES, Fla.—Southeastern moved to 5-0 in Sun Conference play with a 5-2 win and a 7-0 win at Warner during Friday's doubleheader.

The Fire are now 32-1 on the season.

Robb Adams worked four scoreless innings with four strikeouts, allowing just two hits before exiting the game to pick up his fourth win of the season. Reece Wissinger picked up his second save of the season, striking out four of the five that he faced over an inning and two thirds, including a pair of strikeouts in the eighth with the bases loaded to keep his team in control.

The first two runs scored without a bat as Isaac Nunez scored on a wild pitch in the first and third innings. A sacrifice fly by Nick Winkelmeyer in the fourth brought home Chayce Bryant and Nunez's RBI single to center in the sixth brought home Winkelmeyer.

Warner plated both of their runs in the sixth on an error and a groundout.

Nunez picked up his second RBI in the eighth on a sacrifice fly.

Bryant was 3-for-4 at the plate in the first game and Nunez was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Pablo Lanzarote added two hits.

Darien Smith improved to 7-1 on the season with six shutout innings in the second game. Smith fanned 10 of the 26 he faced, scattering seven hits and a walk. David Mata and JJ Sanchez faced two over the minimum in three combined innings of relief with five strikeouts.

Lanzarote singled in Josh Pigozzo in the third to get the Fire on the board. The Fire finally broke the game open in the sixth with a sacrifice fly by Nunez followed by an RBI single by Adonys Herrera. An error brought home Pigozzo to push the lead to four.

A passed ball in the seventh gave the Fire a five-run lead and Jose Marcano's two-run homer in the ninth finished the scoring.

Herrera was 2-for-4 in the second game.

The two teams will complete the weekend series tomorrow at noon.
