LAKELAND, Fla.—Southeastern played host to its first beach volleyball tri-match in program history, welcoming Warner and Webber International to the courts at HP Sports.
The Fire won the first contest against Warner 4-1 and lost the second by the same score.
Southeastern (3-4) avenged an early season loss to Warner by winning the first three matches of the day.
Holly Kaczmarek and
Emilia Harding were straight-sets winners at Flight 5 with
Emily Eurice and
Chloe Rhodes taking Flight 4 21-14, 21-13. A win by
Kennedy Jones and
Ryanne VanWyk at Flight 3 clinched the match in three sets, winning the third 23-21.
Alexandra Postlethwaite and
Grace Petty won in three sets at the top flight.
Against Webber International, the Fire scored first in a tight match at Flight 5 with Kaczmarek and Harding winning 26-24, 24-22. Three of the other four matches went to the Warriors in straight sets with Jones and VanWyk going to a third set after taking the first 21-18.
The Fire will return to action on March 22
nd against St. Thomas and Florida Memorial in Miami Gardens.
