AVE MARIA, Fla.- Southeastern beach volleyball dropped to 0-3 on the season this morning with a 5-0 loss to Ave Maria on the road.

The Fire did force three matches to a tiebreaker set but were unable to fend off the Gyrenes.

Grace Petty and
Katie Chillura dropped the line one match by scores of 21-6 and 21-14 to Grasso and Witkoski while
Sylvia Liszewski and
Alexandra Postlethwaite dropped the line two match by 21-18 scores.

Ryanne VanWyk took set one by a 23-21 score but dropped the next two sets 21-14 and 16-14 to Kessler and Pena.

At line four,
Kennedy Jones and
Chloe Rhodes battled back to take set two 21-14 after dropping set one 21-9 but were bested 15-10 in the tiebreaker set.

Holly Kaczmarek and
Emilia Harding dropped a hard-fought set one (26-24) but took set two 21-17. The Gyrenes took set three 15-8 to secure the shutout of the Fire.

Southeastern will be back in action on Friday as they head to Laurinburg, N.C. for a matchup against Truett McConnell on Friday and Saint Andrews on Saturday.
