SAINT LEO, Fla.- The No. 8 ranked Southeastern beach volleyball team opened their season going 0-2 yesterday with a 5-0 loss to host team Saint Leo and a 3-2 loss to Warner University.

In match one, the Fire were shutout with
Alexandra Postlethwaite and
Grace Petty fighting back after dropping the first set 21-5 to take set two 21-18. In the tiebreaker set, the duo fell just short, conceding a 17-15 set three loss to the Lions.

Against the Royals, the Fire's two match victories came at lines two and three with
Emily Eurice and
Katie Chillura taking the first match of the new season after defeating Alfonso and Rodriguez 21-17 and 21-15.

At line three,
Holly Kaczmarek and
Emilia Harding combined for a 22-20 and 21-9 match victory over Mack and Cintron.

The Fire will be back in action tomorrow as they take on Ave Maria at 9 a.m. in Tavares, Fla.
